FAQ
FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. It is the organization under which we compete.
The FIRST organization supports three levels of competition. We compete at the highest level - FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) for ages 14-18. Other levels include: FLL - FIRST Lego League (ages 4-16) and FTC - FIRST Tech Challenge (ages 12-18).

Help us promote what our team does and ask businesses and companies to sponsor us. (They do not have to be tech companies.)
Mentoring:
If you have experience with engineering, mechanics, programming, business, or media, we’d love to have you as a mentor! Reach out to our email and we can get you in contact with a current mentor for more information.

To be eligible to attend competitions your child should have a goal of a 30%-70% attendance rate. They should go to 2 outreach events, which will go on throughout the season from clean-ups for FIRST Lego League to community involvement events.
To be eligible to be in Cyberhawks your child must not have 2 or more F’s in any classes otherwise they will be suspended from the club until they are eligible.
Students may switch freely from one sub-team to another in order to find where they best fit on the team.
The only costs for robotics will come from any competitions and ordered t-shirts. This will cost between $100-$150 per student for travel and hotel fees. If you are struggling with financial hardship you can reach out and we will assess if it would be applicable to grant a scholarship to allow your child to go.
